If there is one particular reason why I keep coming back to Laurent's Café, it would be that it has never failed to satisfy my chocoholic desires. From the comforting chcolate drinks to the finest chocolates, there is nothing here that I don't like. So here was I again, on the very first day of a new decade.
Iced Black Forest - $7.80
Black forest cake served in a glass, this is how it would look like. The vanilla ice cream float in ice chocolate.
Trianon - $6.80
Rich and smooth chocolate mousse mounted on layers of hazelnut praline and cookie base.
Crème Brûlée - $7.80
Silky smooth custard topped with a contrasting layer of sugar set ablaze to crispy camarel. With the ramekin scraped clean, left behind nothing but praises from my companions.
Chocolate Soufflé - $16.50
Pronouced as soo-fley. Do it any other way you will soon find yourself in embarrassment like me. Each soufflé is only freshly baked on order, 30min is how long would take. But it's all worth the waiting.
Careful peeling off the top crust revealed the spongy chocolate cake inside. While the raspberry sherbet was too sour to swallow on its own, both of them when come together however, make a perfect pair in harmony. This must be the reason why raspberry sherbet is chosen.
Their awesome chocolate creations apart, another thing I like about the place is the laid-back ambience. While it is not-to-be-missed for all chocolate lovers, Laurent's cafe makes an ideal getaway for anyone wanting a relaxing afternoon. Come here to experience chocolate the way none others can offer.
