Then the story may go on that in late 1910s when the government offered to buy over a stretch of his land for infrastructure development in Joo Chiat and Geylang Serai area. Instead of accepting the offer, Mr. Chew constructed a proper throughway across his land and bequeathed it to the authority unconditionally. History stories aside, ever since Joo Chiat Road was gazetted as a conservation district, most of the peranakan shophouses have been through extensive conservation efforts. Today, they are home to a wide variety of businesses, and the best known – food.
Everything with Fries struck me as a neat and casual cafe as first impression. The waitresses here are all young - under 20 I supposed- and cheerful, ever ready to assist you with a big smile.
True to its name, every(main)thing here does come with fries. Choose it between straight and shoestring cuts. And not forgetting the 5 flavours – original, curry, salt and vinegar, sour cream and onion, garlic and herds.
Too bad it was no-fish day or I would have tried Creamy Salmon in a Cup ($11.90). :(

Grilled Pork Chop - $13.90
Besides its juicy fresh lettuce crisps and succulent pork crop, my shoestring fries were amazingly yummy. Didn’t fall on either the tough or soggy side, the fries were sprinkled with special seasonings. Hmmm.... Its taste still lingers on my taste buds.
After satisfying the carnivorous desires, flip over the menu to find sweet treats like milkshakes and fruit juices. Their must-tries include Nutella Milkshake and Hot Banana Butterscotch Pudding.
