Food For Thought 8Q

Opened its doors end of this January, this new chic outfit in the restaurant scene is located at 8Q SAM, a place where works of local art talents are showcased.

Just minutes away from the bustling Victoria Street and Orchard Road, this bright and inviting space provides just the right atmosphere for you to kick back.

When visiting Food For Thought, you will surely notice one thing - the glass jars dangled from the ceiling above head, over hundreds of them.

Come here to find out more about The (touching) Tale of 540 Jars.

Do you like breakfast but struggle to get up early? Worry no more, for breakfast menu is served from 9am to 5.30pm here.

Potato Gratin With Garlic Mushrooms - $5.00

Baked potatos in grated cheese made a good starter.

Chai Spice Brûlée Salmon - $22.00

Served with smoked red capsicum risotto and mango ginger chutney, my companion found that the sweet taste of chutney didn't go quite well with the salmon.

Really Good Steak With Blue Cheese Butter - $25.00

I decided to be adventurous and picked this main with blue cheese.

Thick-cut fries with Rosemary Salt were finger-lickingly delightful, salad was fresh, my medium-rare steak was grilled to melt-in-mouth tender and succulent. Enough said.

Under the same roof is this little shop which sells nice knick-knacks and souvenirs alike. If anything here catches your eyes, do show some support as part of the proceeds will go a long way to help the adopted charities.

As Food For Thought is one of the few restaurants which do not impose mandatory service charge here (in Singapore), be sure to give them some encouragement if they have made your day.

Ask for a packet of tissue paper and you can chope seats with style next time in food courts.
