Jewels Artisan Chocolate is a newly found chocolate café located on Level Two of Orchard Central. The master behind all the chocolate innovations here is Chocolatier Then Chui Foong, who is truly a master of her art. With over two decades of experience in the chocolate crafting and dessert making, she has worked with even some of the world's biggest names such as Pierre Hermé.

Chocolate Tart with White Chocolate Sorbet and Berries Compote - $10.80
The first to arrive at our table.
Though I don't like white chocolate's usually overwhelming milkiness, this exceptional white chocolate sorbet really had me head over heels. With the rich white chocolate flavour well retained, this milk-less ice cream produced a light texture that would make you wanna dig in for more. The sour berries compote provided a refreshing contrast to the chocolate tart, at the same time enhanced a full spectrum of flavours. That is what I call 'heavenly'.
Remember to cleanse your palate with plenty of plain water before proceeding to enjoy your next dessert.

My chocolate slush came too late as we have already finished the tart.
Or was it that the chocolate tart was so tempting, so much so that we polished it off too quickly before my drink could arrive at our table?
Passion Fruit + Black Palm Island Salt, $2.00 ea
Other than comforting chocolate creations, Jewels also boasts a menu of macarons infused with exotic Asian flavours. Not-to-miss is the Black Palm Island Salt Macaron in which salted egg yolk is used as filling, has undoubtedly been innovated to please the local taste buds.
During our visit, Chef Chui Foong came up to us and shared some of her experiences and knowledge. I appreciate it when chefs make time to mingle with customers as that shows their love/passion for what they do. On a separate note, though it was almost full house, all the waitresses were rather attentive to our needs. Thumbs up for that.
If you wish to try out a bit of everything, there is not better time but now. Available at only $14.80, the high tea sampler comes a selection of signature chocolate delights which include a slice of 85% Dark Chocolate Gateau, along with a pot of gourmet tea.
Definitely there will be another time for more.
