Despite having walked past Charly T's several times previously, I had a false impression that it was a bookstore of some sort, until last week when I saw their promitional poster placed prominently outside the restaurant.
1/4 Rotisserie Chicken - $18.30
My companion ordered the HSBC 1/4 Rotesserie Chicken promotion set. While one whole chicken cost $36.95++ and would be too filling for two to share, a quarter of it just fit her delicate stomach. Together with the chicken, it came with soup of the day, 2 sides of your choice and a glass of Earl Grey iced tea.
Charly T learned how to make his Rotesserie Chicken when he was in Germany. Took no less than 13 hours to marinate with spices, the chicken was juicy and tender. The helpful manager also matchmade the chicken with two sauces. While the Original Spicy Sauce was too hot for me, the spices in the Chermoula Sauce enhanced the flavour of the chicken.
Negima Salmon Yakitori with Green Onions - $20.95
As for me, I had this salmon skewer in yakitori style. The fish skin was briefly seared to slight crisp while the meat inside was still half raw with a growing hue. The Ginger and Lemon Japanese Soy Sauce gave a welcomed refreshing taste to the fish.
Highly recommended by our enthusiastic waitress, we ordered a Red Velvet Cupcake($5.00)for dessert. This little cutie was sweet and feathery, complimented our iced Earl Grey tea pretty well. It was a pity that it was too small for the two of us.
Throughtout our meal, the service staff were emtremely patient and obliging in answering my queries. Having learned about the man behind this restaurant and his many travel tales, my companion got really excited about her coming Germany trip. Well, who wouldn't?
