Arteastiq is a tea lounge opened by the people behind the boutique furniture house Marxx. Located on the fourth floor of the posh Mandarin Gallery, it's an oasis which provides a pleasant respite for ones after a day of shopping.
Tucked behind the showroom away from the sight of ordinary shoppers, one will be charmed by the lovely decors the moment he or she steps into the interior. The plush and colourful armchairs set alongside pillars wrapped in nicely patterned wallpapers gave this place an Alice-in-Wonderderland kinda ambience, like myfoodsiren has pointed out. What I liked the most was the full-length glass which allows one to look out of Mandarin Gallery and only to be greeted by an ocean of green foliage.
French Rose Tea
As a tea lounge, menu features a wide selection of tea which include fruit, English foral, Chinese and Japanese teas. There is also an alcoholic teas menu which carries concotions such as Whisky Ginger Spice Tea and Choya Teas infused with fruity flavours.
Each tapas item is priced between $5.9 and $8.9, or you can choose Trinity which allows you to savour up to 3 choices of cold cuts for just $8.9.
It's interesting how some of these 'teasers' are creatively dubbed - for instance, this Hot Naked Tops which is spicy top shell salad with mango achar.
How can hi-tea be without pastries? We decided to go for Adam (apple cake) as Eve (orange cake) is more common.
The cake was soft and moist, the apple bits made it even more delightful. We however didn't quite like the caramelized sugar layer as it made the cake overly sweet.
There wasn't such service here in my opinion, as they just take your orders, serve you and pretty much leave you alone until you leave. It was so that I had to make my way to the cashier to settle the bill myself. Overall our hi-tea experience here was still a pleasant one. It was a pity that we didn't get to try their liqueur teas as we were here before 5 on a weekday. Well, save it for future sips then.
On a personal note, I think the name of a Thai restaurant on the same level suits this place even more. :P
