Following a 'tip-off' about new cafés by fellow blogger Sidney of My Elastic Pants, I took a walk down to Tanjong Pagar last week and had got myself indeed some surprise finds. Well done, buddy.
ReStore is a new vintage furniture shop located in the historic Tanjong Pagar Conservation District. The shop was the creation of two friends who love vintage furniture and decided to make a business out of what they love and do best.
Rumours has it that the Japanese lady owner bakes her bagels and waffles so well that, they decided to have a café in their shop space where customers can get to taste her delicious bagels and waffles while shopping for furniture.
There we had Cinnamon Raisin Bagel ($5.50), served with walnut and cream cheese. I liked my bagel which was firm yet not too hard, giving some bite to the teeth. Its jam filling on the other hand was a pleasant surprise to the palate.
My Very berry Sundae ($6.90) was laden with berry goodness and the vanilla ice cream was rich in flavours.
I told my companion to leave some of her Pure Canadian Maple Syrup ($8.80) for me to try, but all she left me with was her empty plate.

Every piece of furniture here was hand-picked by the owners and has been painstakingly polished, repainted and restored to its former glory.
Chairs.
More chairs.
Is that old locker for sale as well?
The previous owner of this study table didn't like attending school much I suppose.
My companion commended Meg's choice of music, which worked suitably well with the café's vintage theme.
All in all, I really enjoyed my afternoon at ReStore.
So next time should you want to inject a new life to your modern home with a few vintage accents, get down to Tanjong Pagar and you may just find what you're looking for at ReStore. Over delicious homemade waffles and bagels of course.
