Monk's Hill Secondary School's history began in 1958 on a plot of land that was once the site of a Chinese monastery. Following its merger with another school in 2006, its former campus at 10 Winstedt Road was opened for office tender and is now home to mostly design and architectural firms.

Finding 10 Winstedt was an easy task, but locating The Diet Butler could be a little tricky.
Set in a small room on the second floor of the former school compound, this 24-seater café serves western fare with a healthy twist.
It was a Wednesday and Grilled Dory with Herbs and Lime Butter ($16.90) was offered as the set meal, which came with a side of choice and soup of the day, Broccoli Soup.
Our soup was flavourful and loaded with fine broccoli bits which gave a hearty texture.
The Roasted baby potatos were crunchy but not too raw. Although they tasted a little bland at first, the subtle hint of ginger and herbs made up for it.
Grilled Dory with herbs and lime butter ($16.9)
There was a satisfying depth of flavour in the lime butter sauce which made the dish shine. Three pieces of dory fillet at this price is quite generous I must say.
Ribeye steak with mushroom gravy ($18)
As expected, my ribeye steak too didn't carry much taste on its own. The mushroom gravy on the other hand was a palate-wower. Laden with button mushroom chunks, its mushroom aroma was amazingly robust and only made the tender steak more delectable. Oh man, I'm drooling when typing this out.
Although there is no ongoing credit card promotion at the moment, the café does not charge 7% GST. And besides, most of the dishes are seasonal and menu gets revamped on a monthly basis. I'm already planning my next trip to try their Pan Grilled Scallops with spicy guacamole.
