Liberty Coffee

Liberty Coffee

Just a few blocks away from L'etoile Café, there I found my new favourite coffee haunt.

His trusted La Marzocco

Having been in the coffee wholesale and retail business for quite some time, Terence Tay (often referred to as the 'ex-pilot' by many in the scene) and Pauline started this tasting bar along Rangoon Road after a good half year in search for just the ideal venue.

Latte - $4.5

Their Speakeasy Espresso houseblend tasted smoky in a regular Latte ($4.5), was balanced by fruity acidity and rounded off on a nutty note.

Speakeasy

Banana Walnut Loaf - $3.5

Taking care of your belly and sweet-tooth, Pauline would rip out some really nice bakes from her home oven(s) whenever the tasting bar is open. Limited to the early birds however.

On one of my lucky days I enjoyed a slice of Banana Walnut Loaf ($3.5). It was moist and dense, with an alluring banana aroma. I also fancy the pretty tableware they use here.

Bolivia Miranda in cold drip

Bolivia Miranda, which is one of Terence's favourite beans was available on cold drip.

Cheese Crumb Muffin, destructed

Airscape container - $35

The best storage solution for your beans. For the month of April, with every purchase of Airscape container, you get to fill it up with 250g of Speakeasy blend for just $7 (up $13).

Grandpa's balance

LOL

For the kids

In spite of its out-of-the-way location, the place has garnered an apparently sizeable following as most of the seats were filled during the weekday opening last week. It is clearly a venue for the gatherings of coffee lovers and an inviting one that makes you feel like you have come home.

How's coffee?

As the tasting bar doesn't not have regular hours at the moment, a check on their facebook page is an absolute must before you make your way down.
