Taking over the premises of the now-defunct Post-Museum in Little India, Broadcast HQ, a hotpot of music, food and booze, is the latest joint venture of Harry Grover of 40 Hands, his brother George Grover's Australian music company Broadcast Events and the Spa Esprit group.
I adored the raw look of this place. Raw brick walls and old school furniture spoke well for its industrial chic.
No prize for guessing the supplier of the beans that make the coffee here.
My double shot latte was quite a let-down. Not only it tasted so smoky that all the other already subtle flavours were masked significantly, the intense latte art I had come to expect was also missing.
The food menu was kept neat with main focus on BBQ meat dishes, with a small selection of sides.
The signature Broadcast St. Louis-Style Ribs ($30) I had was very juicy and well marinated. Miso & black pepper sauce helped to lift up the procine flavours beautifully. The tangy sides of pickle, coleslaw and smashed spuds served with my main made it quite a filling one.
My partner's Grilled Chicken Breast ($25) with teriyaki sauce though juicy, was on the tough side. The zesty yuzu and chilli pepper would probably make a better sauce choice.
I loved this place for its vibe and music. A short move-about discovered a music shop selling vinyls sharing the same floor. Bar and dance floor were located on the second. Will mark this place down as my next chill-out stop the next time I'm in the area .
