Jean-Philippe Darcis

Apologies for the long hiatus, time had been a much limited commodity in my schedule for the past two months. In the meantime, here're a quick post about my dining experience Jean-Philippe Darcis.
Available in 15 flavors, Darcis's robustly flavored macarons boast satisfyingly crunchy and meaty shells. Out of the four flavors I tried, the star performer was the Chocolate macaron, which boasted a smooth, refined ganache. The Blackcurrant Violet macaron also pleased with its generous layer of fruity buttercream. The Pistachio macaron, however, wasn't as nutty enough.

(Clockwise, from top left) Pistachio, Blackcurrant Violet, Chocolate, Strawberry Poppy ($5.61+ for two)

Being a fan of macarons with tender (and light chewy) interiors, I found Darcis' macarons too chewy for my liking. My vote still goes to those from Jewels Artisan Chocolate. But of course, nothing compares to Pierre Hermé's- more about them another time!
I also had La Dame Blanche ($8.80+): lusciously smooth and rich vanilla ice cream served with chocolate sauce, crunchy chocolate pearls and chantilly cream.

I'm not a kway chap person, but the green beans just left me craving for more.

My favourite dish of the night. If you often find yourself devouring all the mini oysters on your oyster omelette before moving on to the egg, this is the dish for you.
