My school exams have just ended, so I treated myself to a Grande Caramel Frappe from dr. Cafe Coffee at Ion Orchard. Never heard of this chain before? Well, this is their first outlet in Singapore.The cafe has a really cozy ambience! Perfect for a nice chit-chat.
The friendly barista asked if I wanted to upsize from a tall to a grande for just 50 cents and if I wanted to have the coffee as part of a set with a slice of cheesecake. 50 cents to upgrade my drink to the next size makes a good deal...but I declined both offers as I just had some snacks at the Ion Food Hall at B4.
I was puzzled over why I was charged $6.50 for my drink instead of $6 until I realized that the barista had mistakenly made me a grande. Oh well...
The drink was well-blended and was smoother than the ice-blended concoctions served by other coffee chains- I never had to pause to mix my drink to melt the ice. However, it wasn't outstanding taste-wise. Perhaps caramel frappes aren't my thing. Shall try their Cookie Frappe or Franillas next time...
