Thursday $30 Nett Set Dinner - Hog's Breath Café

Last Thursday while some of my colleagues and I were on a food hunt quest at CHJIMES, a poster on a $30 nett set dinner at Hog's Breath Cafe caught our eyes and so we decided to gave it a try.

Outdoor

As we were led to a room with wooden tables and benches, its rustic kampong setting immediately overwhelmed us. A great contrast to the modern bar and live bar area we got past a couple of minutes ago.

Indoor Seating

Tired and hungry we were, we quickly placed our order with one of the friendly staff.
For the $30 nett set dinner, one is entitled to an entreé, main course and a drink of your choice. Here is the breakdown of the menu:

Entreé
Soup of the Day with Garlic Bread

Avocado and Mushroom Salad with Balsamic Italian Dressing

Golden Chicken Tenders with Hog's Breath Honey Mustard

Main
Natural Prime Rib Steak (Regular Cut) with Hog's Curly Fries and Salad

Fish and Chips with Hog's Curly Fries and Vegetables

Grilled Boneless Chicken Leg with Mashed Potato and Vegetables

Beverage
1 x Ice Cold Tiger Mug

Glass of White Wine - Elliot Rocke Semillon Chardonnay (from Australia Boutique Winery)

Glass of Red Wine - Elliot Rocke Cabernet Merlot (from Australia Boutique Winery)

1 x Smoothie, choice of Mixed Berry, Mango Delight, Caribbean, Tropical and Cookie and Cream

At a steakhouse like this, the choice was obvious which main course to choose, so was for the beverage. And I guess we made the right choice as the table next to us ordered 5 sets of similiar combinations as well.

Our food didn't take long to arrive.

Soup of The Day
Soup of the Day - Cream with Seafood Chowder
The soup was good though I preferred it to be a little thicker. The chunks of fish and prawn were chewy and portion was generous, nothing I could find fault on.

Golden Chicken Tenders

This was one of my colleagues' entreé. She so loved it that she finished the whole plate without realizing it.

Main Course
Main Course + Red Wine
Beef and red wine are best friends. Aren't they?

Mango Smoothie
Mango Delight Smoothie
I am never known to be an alcohol drinker. So here was my drink.

Close up
Natural Prime Rib Steak (Regular Cut)
Back to the highlight of our meal. Medium rare was how I requested it to be done. Seared on the outside, juicy on the inside. As I lay my knife across its surface effortlessly, flavoured juice oozed out. As my teeth sank into its succulent meat, it slowly dissolved and flavour immediately filled my mouth. It was truly a moment to-die-for for any steak lover.

This main course would usually costs $26.50 on their menu, which means for just a few dollars, one would get to enjoy a glass of bontique wine from Australia as well an entreé worth no less than $5. Do bear in mind that it is $30 nett, meaning ABSOLUTELY no 10% service charge and GST. If you can find a better deal elsewhere with similiar standard, do let me know, in return your meal is on me.

Bar

Live Band Area

Do note that this set dinner is available only on Thursday. On any other days, there is 15% off total bill if you choose to pay by any of your VISA or Mastercard credit cards. To find out more, you may wish to visit their website here.
