You know I have a soft spot for old places/forgotten landscapes. Imagine my delight when I learned about this exhibition at the Tanjong Pagar Railway Station on Sarah's Loft.
Named The Gift of Time, this exhibition which is organized by Hermès, features several surreal art installations by American artist Hilton McConnico. It was a mesmerising experience like no others.
The label was in the saddlery business in its founding days, which kinda explained the horse in its brand logo.
I loved this one, a mosaic made entirely of leather cut-offs from the making of its products. And the bird too.
So captivated was I during the guided tour that I was totally surprised by what I captured on the camera only when I was doing my photos a few hours later. Guess who I saw.
What's a perfect exhibition without food? To take care of everyone's stomach, the event organizer has thoughtfully brought in to the occasion some home-grown F&B brands to cook up a storm.
Making your coffee here is Vincent Teng of The Plain, which offers speciality coffee alongside our favourite local kopi.
Popaganda's dairy-free ice pops for the hot day, anyone?
Biscuits and other childhood foods we grew up eating, complete with biscuit tins my grandma would use to 'bank in' her savings back in those days.
And not forgetting Seng Choong Confectionery, by Daniel Tay, founder of Bakerzin, that pays homage to his father's tranditional Chinese bread and pastry business of the same name in the Marina Parade area.
I know this post is kinda late. With only four days left before the end of this exhibition, why not take this opportunity to revisit the old railway station this weekend as this might be the last(*finger-crossed). Don't miss it.
And last but not least,
Happy 47th Birthday, Singapore!
